How to Install Your eSIM
Follow these simple steps to activate your eSIM
Check Compatibility
Make sure your iPhone supports eSIM and is unlocked (iPhone XR/XS or newer).
Open eSIM Settings
Go to Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM.
Scan & Activate
Scan the QR code from your email and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check Compatibility
Ensure your Android device supports eSIM and is unlocked.
Open eSIM Settings
Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile Network → Download a SIM.
Scan & Activate
Scan the QR code you received by email and complete the setup.

What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a new digital technology version that is right inside your phone and devices. No more swapping and losing plastic SIMs!
Is my phone compatible?
Want to check if your device is eSIM compatible? Luckily there's some easy ways to check.
Quick Check
Dial *#06#, if you see an EID number then you should be good to go.
iPhone
- Go to Settings
- Tap Cellular or Mobile Data
- If you see 'Add eSIM' your iPhone is eSIM ready.
Android
- Go to Settings
- Tap Connections
- Then SIM Manager
- If you see 'Add eSIM' your device is compatible
Google Pixel
- Go to Settings
- Tap Network and Internet
- Then SIMs
- Next tap Add eSIM
- If you see 'Set up an eSIM' your device is compatible
How long does it take to get my eSIM?
Once you've selected your plan and checked out you will receive 2 emails, these are normally within a few minutes.
First up will be your Order Confirmation and then following that will be your eSIM Installation link/QR Code. (Don't forget to check your spam/junk folder)
Top tip: Download and install your new eSIM before you depart, that way when you land you'll be set up and ready to go!
Does my plan support tethering?
Absolutely! All RoamBox plan are hotspot friendly and allow you to tether to other devices.
Should I switch on Data Roaming when using eSIM?
Yes, please make sure that Data Roaming is on. Please go to 'Settings' > 'Cellular' and turn on 'Data Roaming'. Please also remember to turn it off after use.
Top tip: Make sure 'Data Roaming' is turned off on your primary SIM to avoid roaming charges and fees.
How to remove the eSIM data plan after use?
You can use your devices delete eSIM function via the settings menu.
Does my eSIM come with a phone number?
All of our plans are data only, but the good news is your existing number will still work as normal but please check with your network provider for charges/fees.
RoamBox is all about data so you can still call and chat away using apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage plus many more.
How is the validity period of the plan calculated?
The actual usage time of some data plans may start according to your eSIM's first connection. We will describe this in the package information.
How to check the balance of remaining data?
Checking how much data you've used or got left couldn't be easier, simply click the link in the installation email you received after purchase. This link will take you to your data plan dashboard where you'll be able to check data usage and top up.
Please note: This is a guide and also isn't updated in real-time, please use the Data Usage option device settings for more accurate info.
If I lost my eSIM QR code, what can I do?
Check your email including junk/spam folders or Contact Support.
Will my physical SIM still work while eSIM is installed?
Yes, your physical SIM can still work. We suggest turning off data roaming and turning on 'Wi-Fi calling'.
